Zachary Johnson is based in Columbia, Missouri where he is seeking a BFA at the University of Missouri. He works primarily in the medium of painting and printmaking. Growing up in a town of less than two-thousand people in the southeast corner of Missouri, many teachers and authority figures attempted to push hyper-conservative views on him and his peers. Reflecting back on this has sparked his interest in misinformation and biased teaching.

Zachary was awarded the Brooke and Ben Cameron Scholarship in 2017 and the College of Arts and Science Career Development Scholarship in 2018. Recently, Zachary has been chosen as one of the twenty-six undergraduates in the United States to attend the The Yale Norfolk School of Art’s 2019 Session.
